Plastic needle

Inside your fedora hat is a ribbon threaded through the band. Pull both ends of the ribbon and it tightens the band to fit. You can then tie it off to secure.

But if you accidentally pull only one side, the ribbon comes out. Use a plastic needle to rethread your ribbon back into the band.
